Local
Accountants Sponsor Charity’s Open Air
Nativity Play
Local accountants TWP are wishing everyone at
the Weybridge Sam Beare Hospice a very merry Christmas,
by donating funds to help with their open air production
of the Nativity. The production is seeking
sponsorship from local firms, in the hope that
any profits from ticket sales, programme sales
and refreshments on the night will go directly
to the Hospice.
The production will run over three evenings, on
14th, 15th and 16th December and will be staged
at the Weybridge Equestrian Centre. Covered
seating is being provided for 300 people per evening,
with mince pies and mulled wine served before the
performance. Professional sound and lighting
engineers have been employed to guarantee a high
quality performance.
The Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge provides a
comprehensive palliative care service for residents
of North Surrey. The hospice is not part
of the NHS, but instead receives NHS subsidy as
a partial contribution to the running costs of
the hospice. The amount received decreases
yearly, and this year there is a £500,000
deficit, which the hospice is hoping to make up
through charity events and sponsorship from local
companies.
Graham Carter is a Partner at local accountancy
practice TWP, who have sponsored the production. Graham
comments, “We are always keen to get involved
with other local enterprises to support the community,
especially when we have the opportunity to financially
contribute a good cause such as this one. The
performance is set to be an impressive display,
and I would urge other local firms to consider
sponsorship, so that the hospice can benefit from
the fundraising event as much as possible.”
As well as to raise money for the Sam Beare Hospice,
motivations behind the performance are to bring
the story of Christmas to life in an unusual way
and to unite the community in a traditional celebration
of the festive season.
